According to Access magazine, Bif Naked was born Beth Hopkins in New Delhi, India, to a teenage Canadian, and was adopted by American missionaries, who returned to North America, living in various U.S. states before settling in Manitoba. In Winnipeg, Bif played in punk band GORILLA GORILLA, transplanting her passion for hardcore rock to Vancouver with CHROME DOG and DYING TO BE VIOLENT. In 1996, she released her self-titled solo debut on Her Royal Majesty's Records. Her last studio album, "Purge", was released in 2001 and a greatest-hits compilation, "Essentially Naked", followed in 2003. Her 1999 album, "I Bificus", went platinum in Canada, and "Purge" went gold. She later put her gift of gab to use at Vancouver rock station C-FOX, co-hosting the morning show for two months in fall 2003, and reportedly driving ratings up during that period. Between albums, Bif also delved into acting, working on movies like "Crossing" (2005) and "Lunch With Charles" (2001),and appearing as herself in a 2001 episode of "The Chris Isaak Show".
